So we got back yesterday evening from our trip to Disneyland and getting to see my Dad for a day and a half.  This was my second trip to Disneyland and fortunately, it went much smoother than the first trip I did that that had two and a half days of time in park; considering by noon I was fighting myself to stay functional and the park opened at 10 am, that is saying a lot.  The first trip had no planning prior to the trip and I am one of those people that needs to know what it is we are going  to be doing every second of the day.  This trip had some planning, not a lot, but I had a list of Must Do attractions and a list of Would Like to Do if We Have Time attractions.

Because our one day in park was at the end of February and a Wednesday it was really light attendance and the longest we waited anywhere as 20 minutes (cannot remember which attraction that was) but for most we just walked right on or waited maybe 5 minutes.  We also got to see the Captain EO re-release which was great, I had heard that they were going to bring it back but there was no date until it was actually released; I had been seeing 80 minute wait times for the movie so I told my Dad that if he wanted to see it that we should do it first before the line builds up, it helped that Disneyland has not done much to indicated that the movie is now playing so it was a less than full house on the first showing.

We managed to do everything I wanted on both lists thanks to the light attendance even with my need to sit for a while to try and get past the mental confusion that became over-whelming by 3 pm.  I was hoping I would be able to make it through the one day in park without my Dad having to see me in the mental confusion state because I know it makes him worried when he sees that, but unfortunately, even my best efforts could not keep it from becoming very obvious.

The below pictures are from the trip...

I'm so glad you had a good time, and that it wasn't packed. :) That is one thing that I can't stand and turns me off going to places like that.

Wonderful pictures :)
I was really worried about how busy it would be because I have read that there is really no good time of year to visit due to there only being Disneyland and the California Adventures park next to it. Fortunately I think it is safe to say, that the end of February is probably a good time to go, especially if you can go during the week since children are in school and locals are most likely at work.

Kevin chose the pictures, but I think my father might have been the one to take all of them; Kevin was working our video camera for most of the day while my Dad was taking pictures.
Glad you had a great time and were lucky enough to have short lines. These memories with the friends and family we love are so important, even of we dont realize it at the time. I hope you got lots of great videos and photos of not just stuff, but the lot of you enjoying your time together. (though the pictures of stuff are awesome, I sometimes to forget to include people in them.)

Not sure what that middle pics was of, but it is pretty cool.
There are pictures with people in them, but I don't generally put those online. Kevin took hours of video, we think he got more hours of video than we were actually in the park he took so much, and he is going to make a DVD of us for my Grandma who is on the other side of the country so we only get to see her online and when we go to see my family. My dad took a lot of photos although when he looked at the photo count later (over 400) he said he was disappointed he didn't take more (he owns a camera store and lab so he generally takes lots of photos).

The middle picture is from the Enchanted Tiki Room which is my favorite attraction at the Disneyland Park. There are two versions of this attraction between the two US parks and the one at Disneyland is the original and my favorite, the one in Walt Disney World has been "re-imagined" and annoys me because they have one of the characters being seriously rude and I don't think they should have done that.
I havent been to Disney World in aboout 20 years. I'd like to go again once before the old age REAL old age sets in. I'm sure I will hardly recognize anything. I heard they did awaw witht he 20000 Leagues under the sea attraction, but as long as they have space mountain and the haunted Mansion I will be pleased.
Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion are two rides that I would consider least likely to be taken down. They may get updated, but given that they are both the same in both parks, I think they are likely to remain as is.

I am a big fan of Disney so I am not sure if I could wait 20 years to see it again, we are hoping we can return to Disney World for our five year anniversary since we went for our honey moon.
I'm really holding out for Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It's going to have to take some serious sweet-talking to get a trip to that one.

Saw Disney World when I was 16, it really was amazing, even if you aren't a big fan of the Disney Empire.

Kevin already knows that once that has been open for a year or two I am going to want to go see it. I don't mind not going the year it opens because I know the crowds generally go down the longer it has been around, so I am willing to wait if it means slightly fewer people.
LOL! I was there Wednesday!
Glad you had a good time.
Hahaha, how funny, we may have walked past each other.

Yes, good time was had by all. I hope your day through the park was good as well.
Very nice pictures, so full of detail. I'm glad you had a good time with your family.
Thank you, the pictures did come out well and it is always nice to get to see my Dad. Now I just have to find a way to get to take my Mom to Disneyland (she wants to go).
